Buenos Aires (Art Museum) by paula werneck
2012 - 2013, Silver A' Architecture, Building and Urban Design Award Winner
It came from the cultural environment that's set at Puerto Madero and also the "Puente de La Mujer"by the Architect Santiago Calatrava.
This project searches for different experiences and visual conections through the museum tour. It explores its surroundings and only contemporary art allows it. It's a unique concept where it could only take place in a vivid cultural place.
The biggest challange was to think of a building that would not ''harm'' its surroundings and could also establish a conection with the "Puente de La Mujer, one of the main touristic spots of Buenos Aires.
The building structure consist on a mesh of 12x12m of reinforced concret. A curtain wall frame is attached to its stucture and a great steel structure covers the building.
