Opa (Lounge Chair) by Claudio Sibille
2012 - 2013, Bronze A' Furniture and Homeware Design Award Winner
Inspiration
The inspiration for this projectt came form my first furniture design ever, the Vaasa chair. Wanted to create somewhat of a vintage feeling to it. The pipe arm rests with their wooden pieces above them gives the feel of vintage automovile lights or even little robotic eyes. This project is dedicated to my grandfather, thus the name of it.
Creativity
The beautiful and interesting shape of a single stainless steel pipe giving shape to the furniture
Design Challenges
Claudio Sibille did not encounter any design challenges while designing the award winning Opa Lounge Chair.
Production Technology
Bent pipe, bent plywood and upholstery
