Dahom Cfl Pingpong (Energy Saving Lamp) by DAHOM FuJian
2012 - 2013, Silver A' Lighting Design Award Winner
Inspiration
To create an energy saving lamp that can replace the traditional incandescent light bulb, saving up to 65% of the energy used.
Creativity
Dahom CFL Pingpong when used in the home behaves and looks exactly like the traditional Thomas Edison incandescent bulb but without the heat generated and the energy used. In fact, it saves at least 65% of the energy used. Generally a 7W Dahom CFL Ping Pong can replace a 40W incandescent bulb, without compromising on its size. And in order to achieve the frosted look and feel, instead of using acid to frost the glass, Dahom cleverly uses a patented silicon sleeve. This not only delivers the frosted look, it also makes the light output more even and environmentally friendly. The silicon sleeve has an added function to ensuring safety. If the bulb ever happens to drop, the glass inside will not shatter. Making Dahom’s CFL Pingpong, probably the safest lamp in the world! Protecting your family and loved ones.
Design Challenges
To make this product look like a normal lightbulb, both in application and size. It also has to produce good even light plus it should be safe for the family to use.
Production Technology
Compact Fluorescent Technology coupled with patented Silicon Sleeve Cover
