Haertling Cosmetics-Diamond Cream (High Fashion and Luxury Packaging) by Theresa Lambrecht
2016 - 2017, Golden A' Packaging Design Award Winner
Inspiration
Our agency did a lot of cosmetic packaging design in the past. Also in the luxury brand packaging field. In the case of the HAERTLING DIAMOND CREAM the inspiration process was not that heavy. We have a luxury cosmetic series, based on diamond dust as one of the main ingredients. Obviously that we use the diamond as main visual element. What we did to give the whole packaging range a dignified appearance, was to create a unique diamond pattern. This pattern is adapted to every single product from the range.
Creativity
High luxury packaging for Diamond Cosmetic - cream with real diamond dust. The surface structure effect of the used Fedrigoni paper punctuate the relation between product and package perfectly. The light sensitivity made a packaging look like a diamond. We have developed a individual diamond pattern for this packaging. Don´t forget: Diamonds are a girl´s best friend.
Design Challenges
Most of the difficulties originated by the fact that we have to design a reserved and conservative packaging with a high appeal of luxury and classiness. The answer to this difficulties was as clear as simple. First of all we designed the special diamond pattern, which is the background on every single box. This pattern uses multifaceted diamond inspired colours. We create in combination with the structured paper which we purchase from Fedrigoni (Italy) a fascinating symbiosis of colour and material. The highlight is the diamond crown signet. This is a silver spotted tangible diamond structure illustration is a really eye catcher.
Production Technology
In our experience is Italy one of the most exciting place for luxury packaging manufacturers. That’s why we choose to put the supply chain complete to Italian manufacturers and suppliers. The cardboard boxes are paper based. Shaped, screen printed and finished by Cavalieri e Amoretti. The raw material (Constellation Jade, E33 Raster, 90 gr) is from Fedrigoni, an Italian paper manufacturer with a long tradition.
